WINNEBAGO COUNTY, Wis. (WFRV) – A driver was clocked speeding at 143 mph Friday night in Winnebago County on I-41, resulting in a citation that totaled more than $1,500.

“Dangerous, dumb, and just plain ridiculous,” the Facebook post from the Winnebago County Sheriff’s Office stated about the driver caught speeding around 9 p.m. on August 22.

The driver was pulled over by a deputy monitoring traffic on I-41 south near Nee-Vin Road.
With the driver being clocked at more than double the posted 70 mph speed limit at 143 mph, they were given a $1,515 ticket for citations of reckless driving and speeding.
