And as for our team of the week, that honor belongs to Appleton West. The Terrors opened up the 2025 football season with a 55-22 win over Green Bay East. In other news, legendary Kaukauna softball coach Tim Roehrig is retiring. Roehrig, who won six state titles at Kaukauna (four the last five years), led the Ghosts to 108 consecutive wins — the longest win streak in Wisconsin high school sports history. Last year Roehrig was inducted into the Wisconsin Fast-pitch Softball Coaches Hall of Fame for his 27 years of success coaching high school softball.
Plus, Oshkosh north named its gym the Frank Schade fieldhouse. Schade spent 31 years as the head coach of the boys basketball team from 1986 to 2017. His tenure saw five conference championships, with the last coming during NBA All Star Tyrese Haliburton’s junior year (2017).
