APPLETON, Wis. (WFRV) – When Dominic Hall wasn’t actively serving in the military as a member of the Marines, or working as a Police Officer in the Appleton Police Department, you would often see him in the gym, working out as a place to get away from life.
“Being able to work out was his release, is what he enjoys, he excelled at it, so to be able to take those elements of the workout, and bring them together for this, and to have all of his other friends and co-workers and the family here together is just really special to live what he did everyday,” said his sister, Desiaree Stockov.

Hall passed away in September 2022, after being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. The community workout has become a yearly event for friends, family, and the community to honor him.
“Its so special to see every single year, so many people to come out to celebrate and remember Dominic’s legacy and then take that little bit and do that in their everyday lives, but it just means so much to see how everyone is remembering him and specially honoring him, it really just warms my heart,” says Stockov.
The workout means much more than that, being able to take part in something Dominic loved to do, and now is a chance to remain close with him.
“His beliefs for life are still being exemplified and shared with all these friends of his, and people that probably don’t know him that can come and learn about him, and it all helps to make a better world, that’s what he wanted, he wanted to help others, that’s what his goal really was,” says his mother, Bonnie Hall.

Dominic was a man who led by example, always willing to listen and be a good man to the people around him.
“Thing about Dominic, is he led by example, he didn’t ask anybody else to do anything that he couldn’t do himself, and he always pushed a person to try and make themselves a little bit better, there is that one more pushup, one more something, and he did it himelf, and he was a great listner, a great man, we are very very proud of our son,” his father, Joseph Hall, stated.
The Hall family started a foundation called Project Vaspire in Dominic’s name. They have partnered with the RSF to fund veteran families that may have a veteran suffering from cancer or a rare illness.
