OSHKOSH, Wis. (WFRV) – Oshkosh is now home to a new authentic Italian restaurant, as Truffle Pig officially opened Sunday afternoon inside the historic Oshkosh Northwestern building at 224 State Street.
The restaurant combines authentic Italian dining with Midwestern warmth, offering refined dishes and wood-fired pizzas that showcase tradition and artistry. The interior features marble floors, a glass-encased wine vault, and a glowing wood-fired pizza bar designed to create an intimate, inviting atmosphere.

Leading the kitchen is Executive Chef Cristiano Bassani of Bergamo, Italy, who brings 36 years of international culinary experience. His philosophy emphasizes simplicity, seasonality, and quality ingredients.
The menu highlights a range of Italian classics, including handmade pastas, Tagliatelle alla Bolognese, and Branzino alla Griglia. House specialties include Casoncelli alla Bergamasca, a stuffed pasta from Chef Bassani’s hometown. One of the restaurant’s signature experiences is Spaghettoni Cacio e Pepe, finished tableside in a Parmigiano cheese wheel. Desserts such as tiramisu, panna cotta, and cioccolato fondente round out the menu.
In addition to the main dining area, Truffle Pig offers two private dining rooms for intimate gatherings or chef’s table experiences.
The restaurant is the first phase of a larger revitalization project led by T.J. Rodgers, which will add new commercial spaces and a boutique hotel by 2026.

“The completion and opening of Truffle Pig is both a personal and community milestone,” Rodgers said. “Seeing this historic building reborn with such energy and purpose makes me proud — not just as someone from Oshkosh, but as someone who believes in what this city can become. Truffle Pig is just the beginning of that vision.”
Truffle Pig’s hours are Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Sunday from 4 to 9 p.m., and Friday and Saturday from 4 to 10 p.m. The restaurant is closed on Tuesdays.
