EGG HARBOR, Wis. (WFRV) – Many golfers teed up their Monday on the Horshoe Bay Golf Club course, helping raise funds for the Boys & Girls Club of Door County.
Last year, the event raised $200,000, and are looking to top that by having the Packers Alumni back in full swing this year.
And Packers legend tight end Paul Coffman is back to help the city that loved him for the eight years he played in TitleTown.

“Just so good to all of the people around here, they are doing something for the kids that are left behind or stuck, and you know, just having a meal to start the school day, is a big deal to a lot of these kids,” says Coffman.
Coffman and other alumni were joined by Richard Phillips, otherwise known as Captain Phillips, who had a movie made about him in 2013 that highlighted his heroism amid a pirate attack in 2009.
Phillips knows of the long and legendary history of the Green and Gold, and is impressed by how much the team gives back to its local communities.
“Seeing some of these players here, who I have seen on my TV growing up, or some I am there age but for them to come out and send that support for the kids, when as voluntarily and as much as they do, I see how much they are involved Green Bay is, and is a great organization,” says Phillips.
Richard was once a part of the Boys & Girls Club, and is honored to take part in this to make sure the youth of Door County have a safe place to play and hang out.
“I was a member of the Boys and Girls club, it was important in my life, that and the Y, and growing up to grow and play that was safe, so for me to come out here and support good, great events like this, it’s for the kids, and it’s a great area.”

Club leaders say this event is all for the kids.
“The reason we are here is to raise funds so that the club in Door County can continue to serve the kids in Door County,” says Board and Chair member Elise Stackhouse, “And all of the funds we raise here today stay in Door County, and that is essential for us because people need to know we need to support the club here in Door County.”
Festivities from today’s outing end with a dinner at the golf course. They say they are expected to shatter last year’s numbers with this year’s fundraiser.
