CLINTONVILLE, Wis. (WFRV) – A Madison priest has been arrested after allegedly arranging to meet a 14-year-old girl in Clintonville for sex.
Police say 37-year-old Andrew J. Showers of Madison was taken into custody on Sunday evening, August 24, around 7:30 p.m. Officers say he had traveled to Clintonville to meet the teen.
Showers was booked into the Waupaca County jail on charges of child enticement, use of a computer to facilitate a child sex crime, and attempted second-degree sexual assault of a child.

The Waupaca County District Attorney’s Office is reviewing the case and will decide on formal charges.
Clintonville Police say they worked with the Wisconsin Department of Justin, with Madison Police Department, and the Mid-States Organized Crime Information Center on the investigation.
Authorities remind the public that Showers is presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.
