HOBART, Wis. (WFRV) – The American Red Cross of Wisconsin, Northeast Chapter, recognized several local heroes Monday at the 2025 Northeast Heroes Golf Classic, held at Thornberry Creek at Oneida.
The annual event honors the Red Cross’s humanitarian mission and celebrates individuals and groups who have made a positive impact in their communities. The day featured 18 holes of golf, a silent auction, and a reception to honor the heroes.

The Heroes Classic also serves as a fundraiser for the Northeast Wisconsin Chapter, supporting the organization’s programs and services.
“It is a privilege to acknowledge the remarkable contributions of these community members who have gone above and beyond to support those in need,” said Rebecca Rockhill, executive director of the Northeast Wisconsin Chapter. “The annual Northeast Heroes Golf Classic celebrates the lasting impact local residents have made on our community over the years. Their generosity, compassion, and selfless dedication are a true reflection of the Red Cross mission – which is to prevent and alleviate human suffering.”
The 2025 Northeast Wisconsin Heroes include:
- Blood Services Hero: Jeff Rabas, Algoma (Kewaunee County)
- Disaster Relief Hero: Dan Kane, Green Bay (Brown County)
- Emergency Response Heroes: Fond du Lac Fire Rescue, Fond du Lac (Fond du Lac County)
- Good Samaritan Hero: Dominique McQueen, Wausau (Marathon County)
- Youth & Young Adult Heroes: Oshkosh North Communities Program, Oshkosh (Winnebago County)
