MENOMINEE TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WFRV) – An 85-year-old man has died after a three-vehicle crash in Menominee on Sunday.
Sheriff Darrin Kudwa said the accident happened around 12:08 p.m. on County Road 577 near Number 2 Road. Investigators say a southbound SUV driven by Gary Gene Nyman of Menominee Township crossed the center line and struck two northbound pickup trucks, one of which was towing a camper.

The drivers of the pickups suffered minor injuries, by Nyman sustained fatal injuries. Deputies and medical crews began lifesaving efforts within minutes of the crash, but he later died at the scene.
Several agencies responded including Menominee Police, Michigan State Police posts from Gladstone and Iron Mountain, Menominee-Ingallston Fire, Aurora Bay Area ambulance, and Emergency Rescue Squad Inc.
The Michigan State Police is assisting with accident reconstruction as the investigation continues.
