(WFRV) – The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR) has announced a statewide increase in patrols on ATV/UTV trails for Labor Day weekend.
The DNR sent out a release on Tuesday warning ATV/UTV riders about the increased patrols from August 29 through 31, while also reminding riders on how to stay safe while out on the trails.
The increased patrols are part of the DNR’s statewide “Think Smart Before You Start” campaign.

So if you are heading out for one last ride of the summer, ride responsibly and keep the trails safe for everyone.
DNR wardens and county deputies will be focusing on safety; watching for individuals driving while intoxicated, speeding and operating recklessly.
Officials reminded riders to always plan ahead, stay sober, ride smart, wear a seatbelt when able, and wear a helmet.
