OCONTO, Wis. (WFRV) – Most buses take kids to class, but the K9-Konvoy is strictly for four-legged pawed passengers.
The woman behind the wheel is a local dog mom in Oconto who took a chance on her true passion.

“May of 2023 was a point in my full-time career where I wasn’t happy anymore,” said K9-Konvoy owner Hope Mehlberg. “So, I decided I’m going to take a shot at myself.”
That leap of faith turned into a complete success – transforming a simple bus into the “Ulti-mutt’ ride.
Monday through Friday, 23 to 25 dogs jump aboard for the best field trip in town. They are headed to a private dog park.
“The park itself is three acres,” said Mehlberg. “We have tire swings, tunnels, basketballs and soccer balls for them to play with.”
When dropped off, they are given free range to roam and let their personalities shine.
“They normally go 110% when we first get here,” added Mehlberg.
These pups aren’t just spoiled at the park. They are also celebrated on their birthdays.

On Thursday, a social media fan favorite, Macaroni, turned 7 years old. His owner made cheese treats for the whole pack to share.
Currently, the pack is at its full capacity; however, if you want your furry friend to join a waiting list, you can reach out to K9-Konvoy on Facebook.
