The Latest from Storm Team 5…
What a beautiful day it has been for any Labor Day festivities out there today with sunshine and highs in the 70s.
For tonight, with a clear sky, expect temperatures to fall down into the upper 40s and low 50s. If you are able to stay up, the Space Weather Prediction Center says there is a good chance to see the northern lights tonight, peaking between 10pm-1am but you may get a glimpse of them earlier then that. Head away from city lights and look north!
It is the first day of school tomorrow for a majority of schools here in northeast Wisconsin! Make sure to have the sweatshirt for the morning bus stop with temperatures in the low 50s. Mostly sunny skies will warm us up into the mid to upper 70s in the afternoon!
A cold front will bring increasing clouds overnight Tuesday along with a chance of showers as well. A few isolated showers are possible on Wednesday along with a stiff northwest wind between 10-20mph. This change in wind direction will drop highs into the mid to upper 60s. Our bets rain chance on Wednesday looks to be after the school bell.
Another fall like chill to the air is expected to round out the week and take us into the weekend. Lows will fall into the low to mid 40s with highs only rebounding into the upper 50s and low to mid 60s. A few record cool high temperatures are possible, especially Thursday and Friday.
We do have some rain on tap for Friday morning, but we are looking dry for the afternoon and into the weekend.
