GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) – As the waterfowl hunting season for multiple species begins, officials in Green Bay are reminding people to prepare and know the times and regulations.
In a release from the Green Bay Police Department, officials said that the information is especially intended for the East Shore Drive neighborhood, where residents may see hunters and/or hear shooting.

The full statewide season is from September 1 until January 2, with hunting allowed from 30 minutes before sunrise until sunset. Exact dates and times per zone are available on the Department of Natural Resources website.
Hunters can legally go for migratory birds in the Bay of Green Bay at the edge, including in front of Bay Beach Park, the warehouse/marina shoreline, the west shore and the east shore northeast of Mahon Creek.
East of Bay Beach Park and west of Mahon Creek, hunters are required to be at least 100 feet from the bulkhead shoreline.
Hunters must also stay in the water as they change so they aren’t on dry land. If any bird falls on private property, hunters must ask permission from the property owner before retrieving it, even though the bird doesn’t belong to the landowner.
