GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) – A long-standing tradition was continued this Labor Day as fans gathered to paint a new slogan on the Original Packer Fence.
Every year, fans get together at the Original Packer Fence across the street from Lambeau Field on Shadow Lane to repaint it.

The fence was kept alive by longtime fan Fred Harrsch up until his passing in 2022. Now it is Harrsch’s family carrying on the tradition, welcoming all fans, young and old, to help with the painting.
It’s great, and you know, one of the things that’s great about living here too, like during the games, I’ll park cars and stuff, and sometimes I even get free tickets to Packer games when I come here, so I think it’s great.

This year’s slogan, painted on the fence, reads, “Original Fence, New Policy, Same Goal,” which fans say is more than just paint on wood, as the new slogan appears to honor the long-standing fence painting tradition, the new Packers President and CEO, Ed Policy, and, of course, the goal of bringing another Lombardi Trophy back to Titletown.
The completion of the new slogan on the Original Packers Fence comes less than a week before the Packers kickoff the 2025 NFL season at Lambeau Field on Sunday, September 7, against the Detroit Lions.
