MERRILLAN, Wis. (WFRV) – A Wisconsin mother was arrested Sunday evening for her third OWI after allegedly driving with children under the age of 16 in her vehicle.
The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office says it received a report shortly before 6:30 p.m. of children screaming inside a vehicle parked in the Village of Merrillan. The parent was reportedly inside a nearby bar but left before deputies arrived.
A responding deputy soon located the vehicle traveling on U.S. Highway 12 and observed erratic driving. After a traffic stop, the driver was identified as 35-year-old Terra Sandoval of Humbird.
Authorities say Sandoval admitted to drinking and performed field sobriety tests. She was arrested and booked into the Jackson County Jail on a felony charge of OWI – third offense with a passenger under 16.
