GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) – Fans who come to Lambeau Field for the Green and Gold’s first season-opening home game since 2018 will have some new options for concessions.
The new menu provides a twist on some gameday classics. One features a brat on top of a pretzel, and another puts brats into an eggroll.
Locker Room: Packers host Lions for regular season opener with their newest superstar
“Everyone knows what a sausage is and a bun, but how can we take a sponsored item, a partner of ours and reinvent it?” Executive Chef Zac Ladubec said. “That is kind of the goal, ‘I have leftover brats, what should I do with them?’ Let’s crumble them up and make egg rolls,”
In his 11th season of cooking up some hot and creative dishes for the Packers, Ladubec says this is his favorite time of the year, finding new ways to serve Wisconsin favorites in a new way.
“We have a very good chef team, and everyone gets involved in it, everyone gets to play around with it, and then to see it come through and watch people enjoy it, is what we are here for.”
Fans had the chance to enjoy some of the new foods at the two Packers home preseason games and many were well-received, which helps the culinary team going forward.
“We always kind of go off what worked well, and then we tweak from there,” Ladubec said. “We do have a few new BBQ items with King’s Hawaiian. We are doing a pulled BBQ chicken with gold BBQ sauce. We have some more shareables that people and families can share and taste.”
Now with the regular season on the horizon, Delaware North can prepare to serve the best fans in the NFC North with the best stadium food in the NFL.
“They are working year-round, so the diligence, the professionalism and the way they work through all this is always top-notch,” Delaware North General Manager Eric Sampson said. “We are lucky to have them and really proud of their effort.”
