RANTOUL, Wis. (WFRV) – Officials in Calumet County say an 89-year-old woman died from injuries in a multi-vehicle crash on Wednesday afternoon.
According to the Calumet County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were alerted that a two-vehicle crash had occurred shortly after 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday at the Irish Road and County Highway E intersection in Rantoul.

Initial investigations reportedly show that an SUV with one occupant was stopped at a stop sign, with a sedan heading westbound. The SUV, driven by an 18-year-old Chilton woman, reportedly entered the intersection into the path of the sedan.
The 18-year-old woman was left unharmed; however, the driver of the sedan, an 89-year-old Brillion woman, died from her injuries at the scene.
According to the release, the failure to yield right of way was a potential factor; however, the incident is still under investigation.
