The Latest from Storm Team 5…
Cloudy skies have kept high temperatures down compared to yesterday in the 50s to low 60s. The clouds are ahead of our next system bringing areawide rain showers mainly after 9pm tonight, so have the rain jacket handy tonight just in case if any of the football games tonight go longer then usual. Rain will exit a few hours after midnight, so that will result in meager rain totals of 0.10″ to at most 0.50″ up north.
Behind this front, the winds will crank up out of the southwest, gusting 35-45mph overnight. This will create hazardous conditions on the waters, where a GALE WARNING is in effect from 1am to 10am tomorrow.
Low temperatures will not be as cold as a result of the clouds and the warm wind direction in the upper 40s to low 50s.
Tomorrow, get ready for a brisk and cool day. Mostly cloudy skies, paired with a west to northwest wind gusting 25-30 mph will keep highs to the low 50s up north, mid to upper 50s for the rest of us. There is a chance of a few spotty showers also.
Saturday, plan on slightly warmer temperatures in the low 60s with mostly cloudy skies and a chance for a few more spotty showers.
Looking ahead to Sunday, we will see sunshine give way to clouds with a light NW wind. Temperatures in the 50s for the morning tailgate give way to highs in the low 60s for the afternoon.
