GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) – A day after a student was arrested following disturbances at Preble High School that led officers to recover a handgun and ammunition, a police presence can be seen outside the school.
On the afternoon of September 9, officers with the Green Bay Police Department say they responded to two unrelated fights around lunchtime near the commons of Preble High School.

During the investigation, a juvenile believed to be involved in the first disturbance was also suspected of bringing a gun onto campus. Officers later found a handgun and ammunition inside a backpack in a locked classroom.
The student was taken into custody, and police say charges will be referred as the investigation continues.
Preble High School
It was stated on Tuesday that GBPD will have an increased presence at the high school on Wednesday. On Wednesday morning, a squad car was visible, parked right outside Preble High School’s main entrance.
