MADISON, Wis. (WFRV) – A woman in southern Wisconsin was attacked before she was able to reportedly escape by playing dead.
According to the Madison Police Department, on September 7 around 11:15 p.m. a woman fled an attacker by ‘playing dead’. Police say a man dragged the woman to a vacant lot before strangling and punching her.
The man ended up walking away, the release said.

Authorities say the woman was walking to a gas station when the incident happened. Police saw the injured woman as she was walking to the police station to report the attack.
Following an investigation, a 39-year-old man was found and arrested on multiple charges.
