AUBURN, Wis. (WFRV) – A Fond du Lac County home is considered a total loss following a fire early Thursday morning that injured the homeowner and left a cat unaccounted for.
Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office deputies say that they got a 911 call around 4:20 a.m. on September 11 from the homeowner who was reporting an active fire.
Local fire departments immediately responded to the home in the W2000 block of Century Drive in the Town of Auburn, reporting that the home was fully engulfed in flames.

The homeowner had reportedly confirmed that all residents had safely evacuated the home.
Firefighters were able to put out the fire; however, the home is considered a total loss. The homeowner was taken to a local hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
It was also noted that one cat is safe, and another is unaccounted for.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office.
