GERMANTOWN, Wis. (WFRV) – A Wisconsin manufacturing plant that produces plastic packaging film and sheets will permanently close, resulting in the layoff of 48 workers.
According to a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) letter submitted to the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development, Pregis Innovative Packaging, LLC plans to shutter its Germantown facility. The closure will affect both salaried and hourly employees, none of whom are represented by a union.

The company anticipates the closure will be completed by April 30, 2026, with all employee separations occurring on or before that date. Pregis also confirmed there are no bumping rights, meaning senior workers cannot take over positions held by junior employees.
This marks the fourth layoff notice in Wisconsin in September 2025, adding to a string of recent job reduction announcements across the state.
