STURGEON BAY, Wis. (WFRV) – It was a busy Saturday morning in Sturgeon Bay, as community members gathered for the Door County Walk To End Alzheimer’s along with Sunflower Fest.
Kicking off at 10 a.m., the Walk To End Alzheimer’s featured a two-mile walk through downtown Sturgeon Bay, starting and wrapping up at Martin Park, where participants returned to an activity-packed Sunflower Fest.
First-year apprentices celebrated in Kaukauna ‘signing day’ to kickstart career in pipe trades
The eventful morning and day featured a cornhole tournament with possible cash prizes for the top three teams out of 32, with official American Cornhole League rules.
Alongside the cornhole tournament was a cherry pie-eating contest, with raffles and other activities like a kids’ play zone featuring bounce houses, obstacle courses, games and more. The Door County Ghostbusters also made a special appearance.
The free family-friendly event also allowed people to donate to Sunshine Resources of Door County, which aims to help individuals with disabilities grow and become independent.
