MENASHA, Wis. (WFRV) – The Menasha Police Department is making the community aware of a scam using fake invoices from what appears to be a city agency.
According to a post on social media, the fake invoices are being sent out via email and are said to look professional, even going as far as to use City of Menasha logos and real addresses.

The scam emails are asking for large sums of money to be transferred, and the email address itself ends in “@usa.com.”
Police say that the city and the police department would never request payment via wire transfer and that any official email from a city agency will end with “@menashawi.gov” in the email address.
Anyone who receives or has received a suspicious invoice is asked not to send any payment and to contact the Menasha Police Department at (920) 967-3500.
