KAUKAUNA, Wis. (WFRV) – A team of four-legged landscapers has moved into 1000 Islands Environmental Center, and they need human helpers.
Goats from Mulberry Lane Farm arrived Monday to clear invasive plants inside a fenced enclosure. The grazing continues daily from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. through October 5, weather permitting.
Volunteers, dubbed “Goat Watchers,” make sure the animals stay safe and the public keeps a respectful distance. Each shift can include up to six people, and children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.

Organizers ask each group to sign up for no more than two time slots to give everyone a chance to participate. Training slides and registration details are available here.
It’s a chance to learn about habitat restoration, help the environment, and most importantly, watch goats happily munch their way through unwanted weeds.
