FOND DU LAC, Wis. (WFRV) – A small business in Fond Du Lac is facing repeated vandalism.
Gyr Acquisitions, an excavation and trucking company, says that since July, its vehicles have been damaged about every two weeks. Christine Peters, one of the owners, says that the situation, which began with a broken window, has escalated.
“Every one of the windows was smashed out. And we use this semi every day. Now we are not only losing money putting new windows in, we are losing income with one of our trucks,” Peters said.
The damage is not only costing the company, but for employees like Zowie Francis, it feels personal.

“It’s an awful thing to happen to people who don’t deserve it… it’s used every single day, and it’s putting a damper on not only having to fix it but also taking money out of your employees’ pockets,” Francis said.
Peters says police are patrolling the area more, but the vandalism to multiple vehicles on their property continues.
“We have to pay now to have windows fixed when we could have paid our employees a little extra, or buy new equipment, but now we can’t because we have to fix what people are wrecking and vandalizing,” Peters said.
