DOYLESTOWN, Wis. (WFRV) – An elderly woman was found dead in a wooded area Monday evening, just hours after a Silver Alert was issued in Columbia County.
The Columbia County Sheriff’s Office says they received a call around 6:30 p.m. about a missing elderly woman last seen earlier that afternoon in the Village of Doylestown.

Deputies immediately began a search, and as the investigation developed, additional resources were brought in, including multiple fire departments, drones, and the Wisconsin K9 SOS group. A Silver Alert was also issued by the Wisconsin Department of Justice.
Roughly two hours into the search, one of the teams located the woman deceased in a nearby wooded area. Authorities say no foul play is suspected.

The woman’s name has not been released, and no further details are expected at this time.
The community is mourning the loss as officials thank those who aided in the search effort.
