Police in Wisconsin mourn loss of retired K9 who spent eight years with department, nearly 300 deployments

ANTIGO, Wis. (WFRV) – A police department in Wisconsin is in mourning after announcing the passing of a retired K9 who spent eight years with the force, with nearly 300 deployments.

The Antigo Police Department said that K9 Natscho started his career in 2015, retiring in 2023 after eight years with his handler, Officer Bula.

K9 Natscho had about 1,700 hours of training and he was deployed into action 275 times, helping detect drugs, find suspects and protect his fellow officers.

K9 Natscho helped officers find 133 pounds of marijuana during a drug incident, which was his largest find.

The department expressed gratitude for his service and said he “will be deeply missed.”
