(WFRV) – A Wisconsin Sheriff put out a notice on Tuesday afternoon to remind residents that there are age regulations regarding ATV and UTV usage.
The Florence County Sheriff posted on Facebook that they had personally witnessed multiple underage individuals unsupervised on ATVs, violating the Department of Natural Resources (DNR) guidelines.
The DNR’s regulations require ATV supervision for all operators ages 12-15, and that nobody under the age of 12 may operate one at all.
“We have routinely ‘looked the other way’ when students ages 12-15 were driving directly to and from school and doing so respectfully,” the post said. “However, the other issues and complaints of not following the rules of the roads, and some causing destruction to property, have ruined it for all.”
