MANITOWOC, Wis. (WFRV) – Sixteen Pro Disc Golf Association major champions are back in action this week to defend their titles at the 2025 United States Women’s Disc Golf Championship, which teed off Thursday on the shore of Lake Michigan.
Manitowoc is hosting the traveling celebration of women’s disc golf, with more than 330 players competing over four days across 19 divisions, ranging from Junior 10 and Pro 65 to the elite Open division.

Among the headliners is Missy Gannon, who won her first PDGA major at the 2024 U.S. Women’s Championship in Austin, Texas, and added a second title last month at the PDGA Champions Cup. Gannon will compete against 77 other players, including the top 10 in the official disc golf world rankings.
Three 2024 champions — Addison Woodard (FA1), Rebecca Don (FJ18), and Shelby Cowen (FJ15) — have moved up to the FPO division this year. In the FP60 division, Chris O’Cleary (2024 FP55) and Sandy Gast (2024 FP65) will meet in a matchup of returning champions.
Micah Tilford, last year’s FA2 champion, is now competing in FA1, which features a record 47-player field. Nikki Haney has moved up from FA3 to FA2.

Other defending champions in the field include Stephanie Vincent (FP40), Juliana Korver (FP50), Lynne Gerber, Allie Lawler, Donna Stanley, Patti Adams, Eva Lutsenko and Hayden Harper.
The four-day event combines fierce competition with community and camaraderie, as players aim to defend their titles and make their mark on disc golf history.
