APPLETON, Wis. (WFRV) – A jury reached an official verdict in Outagamie County court on Thursday surrounding a landmark civil case of a 19-year-old woman’s death in 2021.
The civil case was launched by the family of Grace Schara, who died at Ascension St. Elizabeth Hospital in October 2021 after contracting COVID-19. The lawsuit alleged negligence and violations of informed consent by the hospital.
The jury ruled in favor of the hospital on Thursday afternoon.
