The Latest from Storm Team 5…
It was another scorcher out there this afternoon as high temperatures worked back into the 90s paired with heat indices in the low 100s this afternoon.
For tonight, expect a warm and muggy night under clear skies, low temperatures in the middle to upper 70s. For reference, those are our average highs this time of year.
Tomorrow we will see mostly sunny skies to start, before an increase in clouds for the afternoon. Highs in the upper 80s and low 90s, with dew points in the low to mid 70s bringing on triple digit heat index values once again. A HEAT ADVISORY runs until 7pm Monday evening.
A cold front will cut across the state tomorrow and while it will break up this heat, we will have to get through some stormy weather. Scattered showers and storms are expected for the mid afternoon into the evening. Main window looks to be 2-9pm. A few storms could be strong to severe producing damaging winds up to 60mph, hail around 1″ and downpours.
Tuesday will see the return of seasonal and refreshing air, with highs in the low to mid 70s. Plan on more clouds then sun with a few showers south of the Fox cities. A few waves of low pressure will bring the chance for afternoon scattered showers and storms Wednesday and Thursday before we warm up again next weekend. Rainfall totals this week could tally up to 1-3″.
