FOND DU LAC, Wis. (WFRV) – A woman was left with ‘extensive’ injuries after being allegedly attacked by an axe-wielding man.
According to the Fond du Lac Police Department, a 34-year-old man was arrested on June 22 following an alleged ‘violent’ axe attack. Around 2:40 p.m. on Sunday, officers were sent to a residence in the 300 block of East Merrill Avenue after getting a 911 call.
A woman reportedly told authorities that she had been attacked with an axe and was actively bleeding. The suspect had fled the scene.

When officers got to the scene, the woman was found with multiple lacerations to her head, extremities and back, police said. The woman was sent to a hospital and before getting airlifted.
Police say she underwent ‘extensive’ surgery and as of Sunday evening she was in stable condition.
A suspect was quickly identified, and his car was found around 7 p.m. near Germantown. The man was taken into custody after a brief pursuit, police said.
