(WFRV) – The National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm watch for much of northeast Wisconsin until 9 p.m., with the potential for damaging winds, hail, and heavy downpours.
The watch includes the majority of WFRV-TV’s viewing area, covering Brown, Calumet, Door, Florence, Fond du Lac, Forest, Green Lake, Kewaunee, Langlade, Manitowoc, Marinette, Menominee, Oconto, Outagamie, Shawano, Waupaca, Waushara, and Winnebago counties.
Residents in the affected areas should stay alert for wind gusts up to 70 miles per hour, hail around 1 inch in diameter, and localized flooding from intense rainfall. While the tornado threat remains low, isolated tornadoes cannot be ruled out.
Storm Team 5 will continue to provide updates as the storms approach the region.
