GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) – Kids were the theme of the day in Green Bay on Tuesday as the city celebrated its 23rd annual Kids Day with lots of free activities citywide.
“We pride ourselves on having a lot of amenities in Green Bay that are accessible, but we take it to another level on Kids Day,” Mayor Eric Genrich said. “The pools are free today, and a lot of businesses are having a lot of discounts on what they have to offer.”

The day began with Ivan and Rhyatt, a pair of siblings who were named ‘Honorary Mayors’ of the day. This honor was given to them at City Hall, and it was the first time two people held the position
The two boys left the event to go to Bay Beach Amusement Park, where they joined their peers for a day of fun.
At the event, attendees received their official wristband, which allowed for unlimited rides at the park. Having events like this helps allow Green Bay’s young residents to feel represented in the community.
Payton Herman, an attendee at the event, says Kids Day makes her feel special.

“Normally, kids don’t get a day like Mother’s or Father’s Day,” Herman said. “Being a kid in Green Bay, it’s my favorite thing.”
All the events today have one purpose: to let kids be kids.
