GROVER, Wis. (WFRV) – One person was taken into custody and later died after allegedly ingesting an unknown substance during a traffic stop in Marinette County early Wednesday morning.
According to the Marinette County Sheriff’s Office, the incident happened just after midnight at the intersection of County Road B and Poplar Ridge Lane in the town of Grover.

A deputy reported observing the driver ingesting a substance upon approaching the vehicle. The individual was taken into custody but became unresponsive a short time later.
Emergency medical services were called, and life-saving measures were administered. However, the person was pronounced dead at a nearby hospital.
