(WFRV) – Officials in Wisconsin arrested an Iowa man who was found sleeping in a vehicle that was reported stolen, with officers having to tase him following refusals to comply.
The Richland County Sheriff’s Office reported that deputies made a welfare check on a man who seemed to be sleeping in a pickup truck around 10:30 a.m. on June 23. The older-model black vehicle was located on U.S. Highway 14 between Gotham and Lone Rock.

Officials in Iowa notified deputies that the vehicle matched a description of a truck recently reported stolen out of the state, and that the suspect, identified as 40-year-old Ryan Troendale from Waukon, Iowa, should be considered a threat based on previous history.
Troendale initially complied with orders to step out of the vehicle, but then refused to follow further instructions, and backup was called to assist. He continued to refuse, and officers had to use a taser to take him into custody when he was identified as the original thief.
