(WFRV) – The nation’s largest one-day charitable event returns in 2025, celebrating its 40th year of combating poverty and helping people in northeast Wisconsin, with the guest of honor announced.
Award-winning actor Jeremy Renner, known for his role as Hawkeye/Clint Barton in multiple Avengers films, will serve as this year’s guest of honor. Through his philanthropic work as the founder of the RennerVation Foundation, Renner looks to support at-risk youth and children in the foster care system.

In a release from the U.S. Venture Open, Renner called it an honor to serve in the role for this year’s event, which takes place on August 13. He also cited the impact that this event has made and how it relates to his mission through his foundation.
“It’s an honor to be part of an event that’s all about lifting people up and creating lasting impact,” Renner said in the release. “The work being done in Northeast Wisconsin through the U.S. VentureOpen is exactly the kind of impact we strive for at the RennerVation Foundation— empowering lives, building futures and creating real change.”
Renner was in the news in 2023 for a tragic snowplow accident that nearly took his life, which he detailed in a recent memoir, My Next Breath, which Greg Vandenberg, the Director of Giving and Community Engagement for U.S. Venture, said resonates with the mission of the event itself.
“Jeremy Renner’s resilience in the face of adversity, his dedication to uplifting vulnerable communities through the RennerVation Foundation and his unwavering commitment to creating opportunities for at-risk youth mirror the very heart of the U.S. VentureOpen’s mission,” Vandenberg said in the release.
