KAUKAUNA, Wis. (WFRV) – Snapping turtles are starting to hatch and roam around northeast Wisconsin, especially in Kaukauna, with the nesting season.
As a result, officials with nature reserves are asking people to look out and be aware of the eggs, as they may be hard to see, especially if you’re not explicitly looking for them.

The Thousand Islands Environmental Center said that people should be watching out for these turtles while hiking.
Those who find them on their property can take a few steps to protect them by covering them but ensuring there is some sunlight to reach them, along with a space to crawl out of.
