WAUTOMA, Wis. (WFRV) – Flock Cameras and a GPS ankle bracelet worn by a registered sex offender led authorities to a reported stolen vehicle out of Waushara County to Fond du Lac.
Officers with the Wautoma Police Department say they were called to Pickle Row in Wautoma on June 22 for a report of a stolen vehicle. After checking surveillance video, authorities identified the possible suspect as Justin Socha.
The release notes that Socha is a registered sex offender who is on parole.

Using the Flock Camera system, authorities were able to track the stolen car’s location, while the Wautoma Parole and Probation Office helped to track Socha through his GPS ankle monitor.
Authorities were able to find Socha and the stolen car in Fond du Lac with help from the Fond du Lac Police Department.
During an interview with police, Socha allegedly admitted to stealing another vehicle from Division Street in Wautoma on November 17, 2024. Officers say that the vehicle had already been recovered.

Test results of a DNA sample from the 2024 stolen vehicle are still pending.
Socha appeared in court on June 27 and was charged with two counts of operating a vehicle without owner consent. His bond was set at $600.
