Francesco Di Filippo was boating with 75-year-old Luis Di Filippo of Chicago and another occupant on the Wisconsin River on Thursday, April 3, when the boat capsized. One occupant escaped to shore; however, Luis’ body was found a day later and recovered from the river.
The Wisconsin Dells Police Department sends its deepest condolences to the Di Filippo/Schultz family. While tragic, we hope that the recovery of Francesco provides a measure of closure for them. I would also like to thank the numerous agencies, and countless volunteers and volunteer organizations that assisted in the search for Francesco over the past three months. Your efforts have been greatly appreciated.
