The Latest from Storm Team 5…
While it was a nice end to the weekend, the wildfire smoke certainly impacted those outdoor plans today. Despite the smoke, highs managed the upper 70s and low 80s.
Tonight, expect mostly clear skies and areas of smoke to linger. Temperatures will fall into the low to mid 60s.
Our statewide AIR QUALITY ALERT runs until noon on Monday. The latest information now keeps the thickest smoke away from NE WI tomorrow, but I would not be shocked if some of that smoke reaches us.
Otherwise tomorrow, the summertime heat and humidity returns. Highs will reach the middle and upper 80s paired with dew points in the middle to upper 60s.
Tuesday should be another sunny, hot and humid day with highs repeating that of the day prior. A storm system moving out of the western US will track toward the state and it looks like the rain will hold off until late Tuesday night, favoring Wednesday. This system will bring us an unsettled and cooler week with highs falling down into the 70s.
