RACINE, Wis. (WFRV) – A 37-year-old woman in Wisconsin was found dead after midnight on Tuesday after officers were alerted to a report of gunshots.
According to the Racine Police Department, officers responded to the shots fired report around 12:35 a.m. in the 1200 block of Eleventh Street. Responding calls came in while officers were en route, reporting that a woman had been shot at the scene.
Officers arrived and found a 37-year-old woman dead. Further investigation determined that the woman was an innocent victim who was caught in the crossfire between unidentified suspects shooting at each other.
The situation is fully active and fluid, while the Racine Police Department seeks community assistance to identify the suspects responsible for the shooting.
