FOND DU LAC, Wis. (WFRV) – With thousands of people from across the United States set to embark on Oshkosh for EAA AirVenture, the Fond du Lac Police Department has announced an increased police presence at local hotels to combat ‘criminal behavior.’
On Saturday, the Fond du Lac Police Department announced on Facebook that it will be increasing its police presence at local motels and hotels during EAA week in what was described as “proactive steps to ensure the safety and well-being of our community.”

In partnership with local establishments, FDLPD hopes to raise awareness and provide education to staff about the signs of sex trafficking, drug activity, and other ‘criminal behavior.’
“Frontline hospitality workers are often in a unique position to detect suspicious activity, and their involvement is critical to early intervention and prevention,” FDLPD’s release states.
With EAA AirVenture kicking off on Monday, July 21, and running through Sunday, July 27, FDLPD plans to increase its patrols and investigative presence throughout the area.

Officers say the goal is to “identify and disrupt individuals who may attempt to use our community for illegal purposes, especially those exploiting others through trafficking or drug crimes.”
