The reporting party told police that a suspect wearing a ski mask and dressed in all black held them at gunpoint and stole cash and other personal belongings.
Officials say a coordinated response, investigation, and search were immediately initiated, and after further questioning, the individual who reported the armed robbery admitted to fabricating the report.
The individual was then arrested without any further incident for filing a false police report.
We remind the public that making a false report not only wastes valuable law enforcement resources but also undermines public safety efforts. Such actions will be taken seriously.
