EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WFRV) – Crews worked Monday evening to remove a pickup truck from a river in western Wisconsin after a fisherman reported the submerged vehicle, officials say.
According to a release from the Eau Claire Fire Rescue, a fisherman notified officials at 5:32 p.m. that they believed they had found a pickup truck submerged in a section of the Chippewa River.

Crews responded to an area of water near the Riverview Boat Landing in Eau Claire and used sonar equipment to confirm that there was a vehicle submerged in the river.
The Eau Claire Fire Rescue’s Dive Team was called in and found the pickup truck just in front of the landing. The truck was said to be unoccupied at the time.
Divers were able to assist A to Z Towing in salvage and recovery operations. No other information is available as officials are working to identify the owner of the pickup truck.
