12PM UPDATE: Air Quality Alert extended for all of the WFRV coverage area until noon tomorrow.
The current AIR QUALITY ALERT for Canadian wildfire smoke in Wisconsin will remain in effect until noon Tuesday, but will likely be extended as east winds bring in areas of smoke from lower Michigan. There is a hint that later Wednesday into Thursday the smoke will thin out and we could get back to better air quality. In the meantime, continue to be vigilant about your health and go inside if you feel like the smoke is impacting your breathing, or is leading to other symptoms.
Other than the smoke, plan on a mix of sunshine and clouds Tuesday with highs in the upper 70s and lower 80s. East winds from 5 to 10 miles per hour. Our high-resolution computer modeling suggests that there could be a pop-up shower this afternoon, but the coverage will be very small.
Tonight, a few clouds with smokey skies lingering. The low is 61 degrees with light winds.
Wednesday will show us a mix of sun and clouds again with a high of 83 degrees. It’s possible that the smokey conditions in the morning could begin to thin out later in the day. We will be monitoring that for you.
Muggy and warm Thursday with a high of 84 degrees. There is a chance for spotty shower or thunderstorms, especially later in the day and into Friday morning.
