GRAND CHUTE, Wis. (WFRV) – A new Police Chief has been named by the Grand Chute Police and Fire Commission (PFC) following a nationwide search.
On Thursday morning, the PFC announced the appointment of David Maas as the new Police Chief for the Town of Grand Chute. The appointment will be effective on September 15.
The unanimous decision followed a comprehensive nationwide search, which concluded with Maas’ appointment. Maas is a Grand Chute resident with more than 16 years of policing experience.

PFC President Michael Rindt expressed satisfaction with the quality of candidates.
“The Commission was consistently impressed with David Maas’s exceptional leadership, professionalism, and experience,” Rindt stated. “His institutional knowledge of the department and deep connection to the Grand Chute community made him the clear choice to lead our police force into the future.”
Maas has served the Grand Chute Police Department for the past six years, most recently holding the position of Captain of Patrol.

Above all, I am dedicated to ensuring that our police service is guided by the highest ethical standards and remains responsive to the needs of our community.”
The PFC also extended its appreciation to retiring Chief Greg Peterson for his 45 years of dedicated policing service. Peterson has been the Grand Chute Police Chief since 2008 and will officially retire on September 12.
