GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) – While addressing the media Tuesday morning, Packers General Manager Brian Gutekunst announced that quarterback Jordan Love will be undergoing a thumb procedure.
As first reported by ESPN’s Rob Demovsky, the injury to Love’s left thumb, which was seen taped at practice on Monday, is a ligament issue.

The thumb injury reportedly happened during the preseason opener on Saturday in a 30-10 loss to the New York Jets.
Gutekunst stated that Love’s thumb injury is not expected to affect the quarterback long term, and Head Coach Matt LaFleur added that it is unlikely Love plays in the preseason finale but hopes the quarterback can practice before then.
From what I’ve been understanding, it’s relatively quick recovery.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that despite the injury, the Packers expect Love to be ready for the regular-season opener at Lambeau Field versus the Detroit Lions on September 7.
