ONEIDA, Wis. (WFRV) – Ten students incarcerated at Sanger B. Powers Correctional Center earned college diplomas from Northeast Wisconsin Technical College (NWTC) during a graduation ceremony on Thursday.
The students completed NWTC’s specialized industrial maintenance training program, a 15-week course designed to equip participants with in-demand technical skills and open doors to employment opportunities, including through a work-release program.
Many graduates earned GPAs above 90%, demonstrating dedication and perseverance in challenging circumstances.
