MANITOWOC, Wis. (WFRV) – Multiple Manitowoc Fire Rescue Department firetrucks were spotted on I-43 on Friday after dozens of cardboard bales were burning on a tractor-trailer.
A Facebook post from the Department shows several pictures of the incident that happened on August 15.
When crews arrived, they reportedly found multiple cardboard bales burning on the trailer. Firefighters used several hose lines and roughly 10,000 gallons of water to put out the burning bales.

Authorities say there were 28 bales on the trailer.
“A special thanks to the Manitowoc County Highway Department and the City of Manitowoc DPI for their assistance in moving the bales away from the highway and breaking them down for complete extinguishment,” the Manitowoc Fire Rescue Department stated in its Facebook post.
